Dove Fellowship, 6/13/15
We had a summer picnic in the country at Bonnie Goldman’s home on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 5 – 7 PM. Bonnie had everything all ready for us; she made two kinds of tea and three kinds of cookies. She gave us a tour of their home when we arrived, and then we sat out in the shade on the beautiful summer evening. We ate our bag lunches and talked, then went in and refilled our drinks and ate the cookies.
Janice MacAvoy gave a devotional on being a friend, from Proverbs 18:24. She talked about how God made us in His image so that we could have fellowship with Him, and how the Lord Jesus Christ gave His life so that our sins could be washed away if we believe on Him as our personal Savior. Then we can develop that personal and fervent friendship with God, and we can seek to point others to faith in Christ.
Each lady brought a mystery item and put it in one of three bags that Bonnie had by her front door. Bonnie then pulled out the item and we had to guess who brought the item. Some of the items we had were a power tool, a little bear, a little moose, and a craft. Then the lady who brought the item would give a brief reason why that item described her.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time of getting to know one another better. Thank you, Bonnie, for opening your home to us. If any of you ladies would like to host a Dove fellowship at some point, please let Janice know.
