Dove
Fellowship - July 12, 2008
Twelve ladies and two young friends attended the Dove Fellowship that
Becky Jaciuk planned on July 12. Becky had a picnic theme and brought hot
dogs and rolls which were delicious! She also organized the food that
other ladies brought, which included chili for on top of the hot dogs,
baked beans, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, chips, fresh fruit, peach
pie, cookies, celery with peanut butter, etc.
After a time of eating and fellowship, we played three short games. The
first one was a word scramble using words having to do with missions.
Deneen Akers, our missionary to Japan, actually won that game! Then we
played a fun game called “Swat the Fly”, and another quick game called
“Numbered Chairs.”
Deneen, who is home on furlough after a five year term in Japan, then
talked a little about Japan. She asked us what words come to our minds
when we hear the word “Japan.” She told us a little about her work there,
and then gave a good devotional about Isaiah 41:13, where the Lord speaks
about holding our right hand.
Our
next Dove Fellowship will be on Saturday, September 20th. Be
sure to check the church bulletins for details.
