Dove Fellowship, Cox Baby Shower - April 10, 2010

What a beautiful spring baby shower Casey Knupp and Jennifer Estabrook put together for John and Becky Cox’s third little daughter on Saturday, April 10, at 6 PM! The Lord gave us a beautiful evening, and the fellowship hall was decorated in a flower theme. The tables even had tiny vases with real pink and white roses in them! We began the evening with a fun game on the order of Jeopardy, only using nursery rhyme trivia for the various categories. We even had “Alexa Trebeck”  (Beth Oliver) as our hostess of the game!

After eating the delicious snacks that the ladies brought, Valerie Hatcher gave a good devotional from God’s Word. She gathered information about various Bible mothers such as Jochebed, the Shunamite woman, the widow of Zarephath, Hannah, and Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus. She asked for interaction from the ladies and girls at the shower and we thought about some of the godly qualities that each of these mothers had. Then she added her own observations and said that one main characteristic of each of these mothers was her trust in the Lord, which we can each seek to emulate, whether we are a mother or not! Valerie concluded her devotional with having various ladies (whom she had asked ahead of time) to read a verse in the Bible about having trust in the Lord.

After the devotional, we had another fun game which involved matching the word for “baby”, written in different languages, with the correct language. Becky opened her gifts with the help of Mekeilah and even Caitlyn!

Thank you to Jennifer and Casey for their hard work, and thank you to each of the ladies and girls who took the time and effort to come and be a blessing to Becky and to one another.

Mark your calendars for our next ladies’ get together, which is our Mother’s Day Brunch at the church fellowship hall on Saturday, May 8th, at 10 AM. All ladies and girls are welcome!
