Old Fashioned Day - October 10, 2010

It's one of our favorite days of the year at HBC. Folks dress "old fashioned" plus we enjoy a dessert contest, breakfast, family photos, dinner, door prizes, extra music, greeters, and a good time for all who attend. The preaching text for today is one to ponder often:

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;

that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2Co 5:21).

Jesus took my place. He died and rose again to forgive my sins. That is a truth rejected as "old fashioned" by some, but faith in Jesus Christ makes an old sinner new in Christ.
