CPR CLASS - June 4, 2011
Our first CPR class was led by firefighter and instructor,
Kevin Mills. He taught us how to respond safely and how to think before
rushing into an emergency. We then learned the warning signs of cardiac
arrest and stroke along with the resuscitation skills required for
infants, children, and adults. We practiced those skills on the mannequins
Mr. Mills provided. Next, we learned how to use the defibrillation machine
and later practiced assessing an emergency situation, powering the
machine, and attaching it correctly to the victim. Last, but not least, we
learned the signs of choking and the skills required for infants,
children, and adults. All in all, it was an action-packed day filled with
vital information and wonderful fellowship!
