Theme: Knowing our God

Aims for today:

·        Looking at what others believe.

·        Looking at what the Bible says about our great God.

Who is God? (Ps14:1 “ The fool hath said in he’s heart, There is no God.”

Intro:   Some Beliefs include:

1. Atheists-  __NO__ God

2. Polytheists- _MANY___ gods

3. Pantheists- _UNIVERSE_ = god

4. Theists- is one who believes one _CREATOR__ God.

I.                God’s _EXISTENCE__

1.     _SELF_- existence (Ex 3:14)

2.     _BIBLE_ assumes and declares his existence (Rom 1:19-20)

3.     He is the __SOURCE__ of all life. (John 5:26, Gen 2:7)

II.              God’s _PERSONALITY_

He has names:

·        Jehovah- Jireh: “The Lord will _PROVIDE____” (Gen 22:13-14)

·        Jehovah- Rapha “The Lord that _HEALETH__” (Ex 15:26)

·        Jehovah-Shalom “The Lord our _PEACE__” (Jud 6:23-24)

He has feelings:

·        He _REPENTS__ (Gen6:6) -changes his mind

·        He _GRIEVES __ (Gen 6:6)

·        He gets _ANGRY__ (1Kings 11:9)

·        He becomes _JEALOUS__(Deut 6:15)- lack of our service for Him

·        God _LOVES___ (Rev 3:19, John 3:16)

·        God _HATES__ (Prov 6:16)

    III.       God’s _UNITY____

1. One _LORD___(Deut 6:4, 1 Tim 2:5)

2. _ONLY__ God (Isa 44:5)
