Daniel S. MacAvoy has been the pastor of Hanover Baptist Church since January 19, 1997. Prior to coming to HBC, he pastored for 13 years in Maryland and Pennsylvania. (e-mail)

Bachelor of Arts in Bible with Greek minor: Bob Jones University

Master of Ministry: Bethany Theological Seminary

Counseling Certificate: Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation

Master of Ministry: Virginia Baptist College

 

Service

He serves on the advisory board and faculty of Virginia Baptist College in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

He serves as the vice president of the board of directors of the Jehovah Jireh Foundation, a foundation that assists church planters in the U.S. and around the world.

He has served as the secretary, the treasurer and on the steering committee of the Virginia Assembly of Independent Baptists.

He has served as the secretary and vice-president of the Atlantic Independent Baptist Fellowship, a group of over 200 pastors involved in planting churches in the state of Virginia and surrounding areas.

 

Missions

Pastor and Janice served as missionaries in Kenya for 15 months. In addition to Kenya, they have traveled abroad to preach in Haiti, Jamaica, Ireland, Italy, Puerto Rico, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.

 

Family

Dan and Janice have been married since March 3, 1979. Janice is also a graduate of Bob Jones University. Their family includes:

 

Becky & John Cox, Mekeilah, Caitlyn, and Sophie live in Richmond, VA.

Sarah & Joel Arnold and Jeremy live in Greenville, SC.

Josh & Christie, Tyler and Brody MacAvoy live in Independence, MO.

Christa & Jonathan Threlfall, Anna Grace and Nate live in Matthews, NC.
