Merline’s Baby Shower

Today Jennifer Estabrook and Casey Jukkola hosted the ladies of HBC at a shower in honor of Merline Martin and her baby boy. They gathered at the church to enjoy fellowship and a delicious pot-luck luncheon in the beautifully decorated church fellowship hall. As part of the festivities of the morning, each one was invited by the hostesses to decorate an alphabet block to present to the Martin family for their baby. After lunch, Becky Jaciuk offered the devotional, which began in Ephesians 6:1-4. Becky went on to emphasize how important it is that parents guard their words to their children, so as not to discourage or wound them, referencing James 1:9, Proverbs 10:19, and Galatians 5:22-23 among other scriptures concerning our speech. The shower concluded with Merline opening all the lovely gifts brought for the much-anticipated baby boy, who is due to arrive in November.
