Ladies' Christmas Party
December 12, 2020
We had a festive Christmas party on Saturday, December 12, at 10 AM. The fellowship hall was decorated beautifully, with tables physically distanced. Everyone brought their own food, so that worked out great. We had some lovely Christmas music playing in the background. We opened in prayer, sang a Christmas carol together, and then we ate our food and fellowshipped at our individual tables. There were four tables of ladies/young ladies in the fellowship hall, with four people at each table.
Kathi gave a heartwarming devotional about God's amazing grace. She pointed out that God never changes. She gave a number of Bible verses that give us hope and comfort in our Lord in difficult times. She pointed out various people in the Bible who went through trials, such as Job, Moses, Stephen, Paul, and many others. Kathi also shared with us a quote that she has had in her Bible for years: “When you feel like you're drowning in life, remember that your Lifeguard walks on water.”
Diana Oakley prepared some games, and we had fun with that. There was a Zoom option for any ladies who would like to attend. Theresa Hatcher attended on Zoom, and she was even able to be involved with the games.
We then had our ornament exchange, and got some lovely ornaments. Three of us got some fun Christmas light necklaces added in to the bag with our ornament!
It was such a warm time together. The Lord blessed. We have been praying for “HBC love and unity”, and it seemed like the Lord used this time to forward that prayerful goal."
