Gospel

The Bible defines the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ: "I declare unto you the Gospel ... that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures; and that He was seen." (1Co 15.1-4)

The bad news is that we are sinners. The good news is that Jesus Christ loves us, died for us and lives for us. The question is, how can someone be saved from their sin? Here's the Bible answer:

The Bad News
All have sinned and need to be saved from sin.
  • Romans 3.10, "There is none righteous, no not one."
  • Romans 3.23, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Hell is the future for those not saved from sin.
  • Romans 6.23, "The wages of sin is death."
  • Revelation 20.15, "Whoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."

The Good News
God provided a way of escape through being saved from sin.
  • Romans 5.8, "God commended His love toward us ... while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
  • Romans 6.23, "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
We must believe in order to be saved.
  • Romans 10.9, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
  • Saving belief is personal:  "thy mouth ... thine heart"
  • Saving belief is doctrinal: "the Lord Jesus ... God hath raised Him"
  • Saving belief is sincere: "believe in thine heart"

Will you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior from sin and hell?
