Mother's Day Brunch 2022
Diana Oakley prepared a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch for Saturday, May 7 at 10:30. The theme was “Bloom Where You Are Planted”. The ladies brought a lovely array of delicious food. We had a great time as we ate together.
After eating, Diana passed out a word scramble with various words having to do with mothers.
Diana did a panel discussion with two of our moms, Jennifer Estabrook and Casey Jukkola. She asked a number of questions that they answered. Casey was not able to be there because of being sick, but she had prepared her answers ahead of time, and Carey Cole answered Casey‘s questions in her place. Both moms did a lovely job preparing the answers to the questions. Jennifer said a wonderful thing, and Diana echoed it, that whatever job the Lord has given us to do, whether we are a mom or not, we want to fulfill our mission that He has given us faithfully.
Diana read a heartwarming story about a teacup and all of the hardships that it endured, between the molding on the wheel, the hot oven, and the fumes from the paint. The teacup kept crying out to the potter to let her out of those situations. Yet the potter would always say that it was not done yet. In the end, the teacup was beautiful, but it would not have happened if it had not endured all of the trials.
Diana had another game of multiple choice which we did when we answered questions about Mother’s Day. Some of the answers were quite surprising, but Diana assured us that she found the answers on Google, ha ha.
She also had a “mother’s survivor kit” that we put together. It had little items such as toothpicks, rubber bands, etc.: all with a creative purpose of helping a person to be a good mother.
The afternoon ended with Diana reading a cute story using the words “left” and “right”.
Thank you to all of the ladies and girls who came and who helped.
