Ministry training includes: Bachelor of Arts from Bob Jones University, Master of Ministry from Bethany Theological Seminary, Counseling Certificate from Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation and Master of Ministry from Virginia Baptist College.
He has served with the advisory board and faculty of Virginia Baptist College; as vice president of Jehovah Jireh Ministry as secretary, treasurer and on the steering committee of the Virginia Assembly of Independent Baptists and as president, vice president and secretary of Atlantic Independent Baptist Fellowship.
Dan and Janice served in Kenya for 15 months. They have traveled abroad to serve in Haiti, Jamaica, Ireland, Italy, Puerto Rico, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Israel and the Philippines.
The MacAvoys have been married since 1979. They have 4 children and 15 grandchildren.

Aaron Silos has served as assistant pastor of Hanover Baptist Church since the end of 2022. He served in China from 2016 to 2022 as a teacher and evangelizer. He also served as a pastor in Shanghai from 2021-22. (email)
