Ladies' Retreat

On Friday, April 27 from 7-9:30 pm and Saturday, April 28 from 9-11:30am, the HBC ladies hosted their “in-house” retreat. It was exciting to not only see the “home crowd” but also some visiting ladies! The scripture passage that was used throughout the sessions was John 13:34-35: A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. The 3 main teaching sessions focused on our mandate to love, Jesus’ model of love, and our mission to love. Each lesson was saturated with Biblical truth. The last session reviewed the lessons and was devoted to praying for strength and help as the ladies strive to love as Jesus did.
Of course, the food was delicious and the crafts were a lot of fun. Each lady made a set of homemade coasters as well as a decorative note pad. Some ladies were even fortunate enough to win various door prizes throughout the weekend. The retreat concluded with lunch and a trip to the Botanical Gardens (for the brave souls that ventured out in the rain!) What a blessing this retreat was!
